Nkechi Blessing, a prominent Nollywood actress recently shared a shocking anecdote from the start of her career during an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast. 

She recounted being handed a script for what was meant to be her debut film that required her to perform a scene involving sleeping with a dog, which she firmly rejected.

According to her, she turned it down because there’s no way she'll kick off her career on that note, since it would've have been he first film.

She went on to say she didn’t want her legacy to be “that actress who sleeps with dogs in movies.”

“Despite being a newcomer, I was given a script to sleep with a dog. I rejected it because I can’t start off my career like that. Imagine my first ever movie, I am sleeping with a dog. It doesn’t make sense. It is going to be a tag because whatever you start with is what people would associate you with. I didn’t want to be renowned as someone who sleeps with dogs in movies.

“So, I rejected that script. But immediately I threw it down, so many girls grabbed it. I’m not sure any of them are in the limelight today,” she stated.
