“We Lost a Colossus” — Labour Party Speaks on Peter Obi’s Exit

 

The Labour Party has described the exit of Peter Obi from the party as the loss of a “colossus,” admitting that his departure created a major vacuum within the political movement.

Speaking during a recent interview, party officials acknowledged that Obi’s influence, popularity, and massive grassroots support played a significant role in strengthening the party’s visibility across Nigeria, especially during the 2023 presidential election.

According to the party, Obi’s departure left many supporters disappointed and created uncertainty among loyal members who had strongly identified with his leadership style and political vision.
