Nigerians reacts to Muhammad Buhari speech
The expectation of President of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari speech, concerning the coronavirus pandemic has made many Nigerian citizens to have high hopes. They believed that the speech will address the issue of welfare during the lockdown.

The speech brought a lot of disappointments to citizens instead of bringing smile to their faces. Their expectations were really cut off. These were some of the reaction of people that spoke to goldypages.
A lady who gave her name as Rose said, "It is a terrible time. We had a lot of expectation before the president gave his speech but after the speech, we all lost hope. But the only hope we have now is that we are expecting something from the state government and pray we will get the food items that it promised."
Maryam who sells pepper said, "If I don't come out every day to sell I can not eat or feed by five children. How are we going to survive now. Hunger will kill more people than coronavirus. We all thought the president speech will bring us good news."
Dele said, "Why is Nigerian always different from other countries? Other countries are helping their citizens by giving them money. Well! Our government have no good plan for us. How will Nigerians survive?"
And that is the question the citizens are asking. How are people going to survive. The next two weeks is going to be full of challenges and a tough time for the people.

2. Coronavirus or COVID-19 was turning into an epidemic and was officially declared a world-wide emergency, the Federal Government started planning preventive, containment and curative measures in the event the disease hits Nigeria.
3. The whole instruments of government are now mobilized to confront what has now become both a health emergency and an economic crisis.
4. Nigeria, unfortunately, confirmed its first case on 27th February 2020. Since then, we have seen the number of confirmed cases rise slowly.
5. By the morning of March 29th, 2020, the total confirmed cases within Nigeria had risen to ninety-seven.
