Sabinus Cries Out Over Rising Agbero Menace in Lagos

 

Popular skitmaker Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, better known as Sabinus, has joined Lagosians to decry the growing activities of street urchins popularly known as Agbero in Lagos State. 

The comedian reacted after a viral video showed a group of youths, also referred to as 'Omonile', preventing the owner of a Tesla Cybertruck from leaving the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos.

In the clip that has been trending online, the group was initially seen gathering around the luxury electric vehicle to take photographs. The situation however escalated when the owner attempted to drive off.

According to eyewitness Femi Pereira who recorded the incident, the youths allegedly surrounded the vehicle and demanded money from the driver before allowing him to leave, forcing him to eventually abandon the Cybertruck at the stadium amid the confrontation. 

Reacting to the video on his socials, Sabinus did not hold back.

"If I dey talk about these agbero pandemic for Lagos, una go begin attack person. Just look at grown men and people’s bread winners making a mess of themselves. I don wash my hand for this matter." 

His outburst has sparked fresh conversations online, with many residents complaining about harassment and intimidation allegedly faced by motorists and visitors in parts of Lagos. 

The incident comes just days after Sabinus revealed that despite being based in Lagos, he shoots all his skits in Port Harcourt because of his kind of storyline, a comment many fans linked to the difficulty of shooting in Lagos due to Agbero wahala.
