Atiku Abubakar, Shehu Sani And Others React To Tinubu’s Fall At Eagle Square

Former vice-president Atiku Abubakar, Senator Shehu Sani and other Nigerians have taken to social media to react after President Bola Tinubu slipped while boarding the presidential parade vehicle at Eagles Square in Abuja to mark the country’s Democracy Day celebration.

Bola Ahmed Tinubu missed his step, tripped and fell while trying to climb the truck on his way to give his speech at Eagles Square in Abuja on Wednesday.

The President continued the parade after he was quickly helped up by his security men.

See some of the reactions below;

Atiku Abubakar wrote, "I sincerely sympathise with President Bola Tinubu, @officialABAT, over this unfortunate incident as he was set to review the parade on Democracy Day. I do hope that all is well with him."

Reno Omokri wrote, "President Tinubu missed his step and fell. It could happen to anybody. Including those mocking him. To fall is human. To rise after you fall is a blessing from the Divine. The thing is that God has already elevated Tinubu. No matter how we mock him, it will not change that. General Buhari also fell. He fell physically, and he also fell ill. Many mocked his frail health. Yet, in the history of Nigeria, Buhari, though a failed leader, turned out to be the ONLY President who left Aso Rock looking younger than he left it."

Senator Shehu Sani wrote, "Not Just President Tinubu,anyone alive can trip and fall;it happened to President Biden and Fidel Castro.Presidents are human beings and mortals."

Arinze Odira wrote, "I just saw the video of President Tinubu tripping over. That wasn't a good fall. It was scary to watch. I pray nothing happens to him. I hope he is okay.

President Tinubu is elderly. There is nothing funny about an elder tripping or falling. Where are our morals as a people? That fall had nothing to do with him being weak. That was an accident, and we should be worried. Everything is not politics.

We can hold him accountable for his poor policies. We can continue to press his neck with objective criticism about the poor state of the nation. One thing we should never do is to make jest at him because of that fall."

Chude Nnamdi wrote, "Omo! Tinubu just fell from the vehicle at the Democracy day celebration.. Ehyaa"
