Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has lamented about how Nigerians have been brainwashed to know everything about the Westerners yet know nothing about our own history.

The actor bemoaned the high level of  ignorance people live without making efforts to know about their history and culture.

Edochie complained how people have been brainwashed to know only what the Western world passed down to us.

He revealed that the colonial masters introduced the Western education the English language and their religion to Nigerians, stressing that people even know everything about the West, whereas they are ignorant about their own roots.

However, Nigerians know nothing about their people, heritage, culture and history. 

"We have all been brainwashed to know everything about Moses, Jacob, Isaac and the people of Israel yet we know nothing about our ancestors, we know nothing about the exploits of our grandfathers, grandmothers, & all the great people in our lineage. Big shame on all of us. If you don’t know who you're and where you're coming from you'll never know where you're heading to."
