Civil War Made My Family Name Change From Ojukwu to Damascus - Stella Damascus

Nigerian actress, Stella Damascus shared that her family's original surname was Ojukwu, which was later changed.

The TV star, opened up on why her family name changed from Ojukwu to Damascus.

According to her, for security and safety reasons, her family decided to change their surname to Damascus from the family's original surname, Ojukwu.

The actress made it known that the Nigerian civil war was the reason her family could no longer use their family name of origin for fear of being mistaken to be related to a warlord. 

“My family name was Ojukwu but it was changed to Damasus during the civil war to avoid being attacked by Nigerian Soldiers…,” she said in part
