Nigerian Afrobeats singer, Davido says his father, Dr. Deji Adeleke, became a millionaire at 23 and now runs a major energy company.
Davido revealed on the Bagfuel Brigade podcast that his company produces around 18% of West Africa's electricity, which is then supplied to the government for distribution.
Davido announced that his new power plant, which will be the largest in Nigeria, is nearly complete and expected to start operating in January. The 1,250MW power plant will significantly boost the country's energy capacity.

Davido explained that his company sells the generated power to the government, which then handles distribution, as they only have the authority to generate electricity, not distribute it.
“My Dad made his first million like 23. Right now, we supply about 18% of the whole electricity in West Africa.”
“He sells the power we generate to the government, because the government has the authority to distribute. Ours is just to generate it and the government decides what to do with it.
“In Nigeria, I am in the electricity business; I own a power plant, and presently, I generate about 15% of the electricity needs for Nigeria. I have Chinese Engineering companies that work.”
