Teni Reveals Why She Stopped Giving Money on Fridays

Nigerian singer Teni has revealed that she no longer gives money to people on Fridays because they tend to spend it all on pepper soup.

In a viral video, Teni shared her experience of giving someone money, only for them to use it to buy a large plate of catfish pepper soup, despite initially claiming it was for starting a business. 

Teni jokingly advised that if people want to give money, it's better to do so on Mondays when individuals are more focused on their plans for the week.

Speaking in Pidgin English, Teni said: “Me I no dey give anybody money on Friday. No no no, if you give person money on Friday, them go use your money go chop pepper soup ooh.”

Teni recalled how she was so ill that she lost her appetite and almost asked her mom to wake her deceased father from the grave to help her.

She added, “I almost called my mum that they should turn off the AC in the burial ground of my father because it’s like he wanted to take a nap. I said, ‘Wake up, your daughter is dying!’ I was down. I was weak for two weeks. I couldn’t eat.
