“Government Lacks a Sense of Humanity” – Yvonne Jegede Slams Leaders
Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has slammed the Nigerian government, accusing leaders of being out of touch with citizens’ suffering.
In a candid post shared via her Instagram Stories on Thursday, the Merry Men star didn’t hold back.
“Nigerian government lacks a sense of humanity. How do you sleep at night knowing people are starving, dying, kidnapped daily, and all you do is share rice once a year?”

Jegede’s comments come amid rising inflation, food prices, and fresh reports of kidnappings in parts of the country. The actress referenced the economic strain on ordinary Nigerians, saying many can no longer afford basic meals or healthcare.
“You people are so detached. It’s like you’re governing from another planet. The pain is too much and nobody in power seems to care,” she added.
She also called out what she described as misplaced priorities.
“Billions for convoys and foreign trips, but hospitals have no drugs. Make it make sense.”
She ended her post with a direct charge to leader.
“If you still have blood in your veins, act like it. Nigerians are not statistics. We’re human beings.”
