Portable Demands DNA Test from Baby Mama Ashabi Simple Before Child Support

 

Nigerian street-pop star Portable is once again at the center of family drama after a leaked voice note surfaced in which he calls out actress Ashabi Simple, the mother of two of his children, and refuses to send financial support until a DNA test confirms paternity.

In the explosive recording that went viral on September 18, 2026, the “Zazu Zeh” singer tells Ashabi he will not release any money for the kids until she meets him at a hospital for testing. 

He acknowledges the children’s resemblance to him but dismisses it, saying they could look like him simply because the pair lived together. 

Portable accuses her of frequent absences during their relationship (citing film shoots) and makes clear there will be no reconciliation, declaring her his “enemy for life.”

The outburst reportedly came after Ashabi threatened legal action or arrest over what she described as unpaid child support and reached out to his manager. 

Portable has pushed back publicly, telling her not to use the children as leverage and even suggesting she hand them over so another woman can care for them while he takes responsibility.
