Oliver Enwonwu is from Anambra State, Nigeria. He graduated from the University of Lagos where he studied biochemistry for his first degree and later obtained an advanced diploma in exploration geophysics(distinction).He also holds post graduate diplomas in applied geophysics (best graduating student) and visual art(distinction)and a Masters in art history( best graduating student), all from the same institution. He is presently studying for a PhD in art history at the University of Benin.
Oliver Enwonwu is currently the President of Society of Nigerian Artists and is serving a second term in office. He is also the founder, executive director and a trustee of The Ben Enwonwu Foundation. In addition, he is the director of Omenka Gallery and founder and editor of Omenka magazine.
Enwonwu is also the founder and chief executive of Revilo, publishers of Network, the bi-monthly magazine of the Nigerian- British Chamber of Commerce. He also serves on the editorial board of the publication.

Early Life
As a child, he always watched his father, celebrated artist Prof Ben Enwonwu work. This made him develop interest in art, and his love for it grew. He started practicing how to draw under his father’s watchful eyes. It was not surprising when he began winning prizes at St. Saviour’s Primary School. And it did not stop there. On gaining admission to King's College, Lagos, his skills and talent were noticed. He became the utility decorator, and he was used whenever there was an important event or special programme in the school. On graduation, he had distinctions in fine art and 7 other subjects including mathematics, physics, chemistry and biology.

Oliver Enwonwu has participated and organised several exhibitions both in Nigeria and outside Nigeria.
