#EndSARS: Wizkid, Omotola Jalade And Others React To SARS Dissolution

 For a week now, the Nigerian youths lent their voices and called for the special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to be scrapped. They used their social media platforms to start the #endSARS and eventually,  moved it to the street with Nigerian popular celebrities leading in the protest.

 The Inspector-General of Police, IGP M.A Adamu, dissolved the Nigerian special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) October 11, 2020, across the 36 states Police Command and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), due to pressure from the youth.

Following the dissolution of special Anti-Robbery Squad ( SARS), some celebrities have taken to their social media to react.

Wizkid wrote, "My brother they replied us? Now they know we have a voice!!! And we the youths understand the power we have. We shall continue to speak up about other pressing issues/police brutality and good governance! Why I said "This is just the beginning" 

"They think we will back down! JUNGLE DON MATURE E TI DARAN," Adekunle Gold wrote.

"No be today we hear sey dem dey end SARS we no go sitdown look for this one. This is the generation of change Jah willing!!!!," Mr Eazi wrote.

Just few hours after SARS was dissolved, people were still assaulted, shot and teargas by police.

Omotola, Simi and others also talk about how they feel about SARS.

"Most" police officers in Nigeria and indeed SARS are uneducated. The system and culture of Abuse needs to be dismantled! It's in every fabric of the system as a result, with a little power, Incredible Abuse! Sufferings not noble or humility! No. Suffering is evil! EndSars," Nigerian Nollywood actress, Omotola tweeted.

"They should just give guns and ammunition to anyone in the force. I've had a drunk policeman point a gun at me and my friends before in the middle of the night. No accountability. Sigh. The rot is so deep in, we need to throw most of it away," Simi wrote.
