The activist listed seven Nigerians he felt should be awarded.
Of the seven people below, who do you think should be Nigeria's Person of the Year, 2023?
a. Peter Obi
b. Victor Osimhen
c. Burna Boy
d. President Bola Tinubu
e. Tems
f. The late MohBad
g. The Dangote Refinery
The result of my poll showed, the late singer has the people's choice while Peter Obi, the candidate of the Labour Party in the 2023 presidential election came second.
"Please kindly give a short explanation for why you chose the option you did.
The result of my poll on who the Person of the Year should be shows that the Yes Daddy audio leak only affected Peter Obi's popularity in the core Northern Nigeria and amongst Southern Muslims. Elsewhere, the man is so popular that he is almost a folk hero. Anybody who counts him out has made a grave error. He is a force to be reckoned with.
He came second after MohBad. And that is saying a lot. If he can sustain this cult-like following until 2027, he might not win the election, but he will come very close. If he can mend his relationship with the Muslim Ummah and President Bola Tinubu is unable to perform his Lagos economic miracle nationally, then 'very close' may become close enough, if the Person of the Year poll is to be believed.
Congratulations to the family of the late Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba. Your son is the choice of Nigerians for Person of the Year, 2023. A man who was virtually unknown on January 1, 2023, is now one of the most popular Nigerians on January 1, 2024. Who can explain this? May the family he left behind be comforted by this, and May peace find its way to them."
