"He’s My Egbon" – Funke Akindele Responds to Pasuma Snub Reports
Nollywood powerhouse Funke Akindele has finally reacted to viral claims that she snubbed Fuji legend Wasiu Alabi Pasuma at a recent celebrity-studded event and she is not having it.
The drama began after a short clip surfaced online, allegedly showing the actress ignoring Pasuma at a crowded party. The video quickly went viral, sparking heated debates and backlash across social media, with many accusing the box office queen of showing disrespect.
But in a swift and fiery response, Funke shut down the narrative, describing the claims as false and driven by negativity.
She wrote,
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Please you all should stop this evil.”

According to reports, the viral clip only captured a brief moment from the event, one that failed to show the full interaction between both stars. In fact, extended footage that later surfaced online reportedly shows Funke warmly greeting Pasuma, smiling and engaging with him before moving on to other guests.
The event itself was held in celebration of actress Fathia Balogun, with several celebrities in attendance. However, the selective editing of the now-viral clip appears to have painted a misleading picture, fueling unnecessary controversy.
This isn’t the first time Funke Akindele has found herself at the center of a “snub” narrative, as a similar situation recently sparked conversations involving fellow actress Toyin Abraham.
