“Better Single Than Married” — Lizzy Gold Tells Women to Choose Peace Over Rings

Nollywood actress Lizzy Gold has stirred conversation on social media after advising women that it’s better to remain single than to rush into marriage.  

The actress shared her thoughts in a video posted to her Instagram page on Friday, where she spoke directly to young women about relationships and self-worth.  

“It’s better to be single than be married and miserable. Marriage is not an achievement. Peace of mind is. Don’t let society pressure you into a union that will drain you.”

She added that many women endure toxic marriages because of family expectations and fear of stigma, urging her followers to prioritize happiness over marital status.  

“If he’s not adding to your life, sis, leave him alone. Single is not a curse,” she stated.  

The clip quickly went viral, drawing thousands of comments. While many women praised her for “speaking truth,” others argued that her message could discourage marriage.
