“Our Husband” – Chants Erupt as Chike Arrives in Sierra Leone

Nigerian singer Chike was given a hero’s welcome by female fans in Sierra Leone this week, with chants of “our husband” ringing out as he arrived for a show.  

Videos circulating online show ladies crowding around the singer, singing along to his songs and calling out affectionately as he greeted them. 

The warm reception came even as Chike remains at the center of a controversy back home in Nigeria.

The scandal stems from allegations linking Chike to the breakdown of veteran TV host Frank Edoho’s marriage to Sandra Onyenucheya. Frank confirmed his divorce in May 2026 after nearly two years out of the public eye. 

Despite the online drama, the Sierra Leone crowd seemed unfazed. Fans defended him online too, with some saying the allegations remain unverified and shouldn’t overshadow his music.
