“Acting Isn’t a Hobby, It’s My Life” – Nancy Isime

Nollywood star Nancy Isime is setting the record straight on why she acts, and it goes way deeper than fame or paychecks.
The Blood Sisters actress opened up in a recent interview with Chude Jideonwo that’s now trending, declaring that acting isn’t just a career move for her.
“It isn’t a hobby nor a moneymaking scheme but my life,” Nancy said firmly. “This is the one thing I know I was born to do. If I’m not on set, I feel incomplete.”
Nancy was addressing the narrative that celebrities jump into Nollywood for clout after getting famous elsewhere. For her, the journey started at 17 with modeling, then TV presenting, but acting was always the endgame.
“I respect the craft too much to disrespect it. I train, I study, I cry over roles. You don’t do that for something you just ‘like’,” she added.
“People see the red carpet. They don’t see me rehearsing lines at 3am or learning to fight for a role,” she said.
When asked about crossing over internationally, Nancy shut down the desperation, “If it happens, fine. But I’m not doing this to ‘japa’ through film. Nollywood is home. The stories here raised me.”
Nancy confirmed she’s producing her first feature film in 2027 and will star in Kemi Adetiba’s next project dropping December.
According to Nancy, “If I die and come back, I’ll still choose acting. It’s that deep.”
