“Nigerians Are Hungry, Youths Keep Betraying Themselves” - Portable Laments Nigeria’s Economic Hardship
In a fiery outburst, popular Nigerian singer Portable has voiced deep frustration over the prevailing economic challenges facing the country, painting a grim picture of hunger and self-sabotage among the youth.
The Zazu crooner did not hold back as he addressed the state of the nation. In a video circulating widely on social media, Portable revealed the biting hunger across Nigeria and accused the youth of repeatedly undermining their own collective interests.
He then turned to youth politics, claiming that envy and backstabbing among young people are making things worse.

“Things hard for everybody. And our youths instead of we to unite, we keep betraying ourselves. How we wan take grow like this?
“You see your brother rising, you go report am. You see opportunity, you go spoil am for another person. Na so we dey do ourselves.
“Make we love ourselves. If we no help ourselves, nobody go help us.”
He reportedly questioned the current leadership, asking if those in power could truly rest easy knowing the struggles of ordinary citizens.
This isn’t Portable’s first time weighing in on national issues. He’s previously called out government policies and spoken on police harassment.
