Nollywood superstar and box-office queen Funke Akindele has shared a relatable and hilarious throwback story from her days as a student at the University of Lagos, revealing how she once dabbled in nail artistry as a side hustle before rising to become one of Africa's biggest entertainers.

In a recent reflection, the award-winning actress and director opened up about her entrepreneurial spirit during her university years. 

“When I was at the University of Lagos, I made nails for a girl, and she slapped me because they were terrible,” Akindele recounted. “I learned by watching nail technicians in Yaba, then practiced in my hostel corridor and invited people to get their nails done.”

Far from being discouraged by the slap, young Funke turned the experience into a learning opportunity, honing her skills by observing professionals in Yaba market and offering services right from her hostel.

Known for her iconic role as Jenifa and record-breaking films like Omo Ghetto, A Tribe Called Judah, the actress has often spoken about the importance of hustle and learning from failure.
