"It Was Hell" - Peller Says He Didn't Eat or Bathe for 4 Days in Police Custody
TikTok star and skit maker Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has opened up about his harrowing experience in police custody, revealing that he went four days without eating or bathing.
The 20-year-old content creator was arrested recently, and after his release, he took to social media to share what he went through behind bars.
According to Peller, the conditions were tough and mentally draining. Other inmates welcomed him by calling him their “001,” a title that had him laughing despite the situation he was in.
He added that he kept to himself and didn’t speak to anyone during his time in detention.
“I can’t show my face yet because I’m ugly. Omo, I slept in the cell for almost four days. It has never happened to me before in my life,” he wrote
“As they put me for cell, people wey dey there said, ‘You be our 001 now.’ Omo, I burst laugh once. I no follow anybody talk till I comot. 001 wey una wan give water and beans to eat. I didn’t eat or bathe for four days. Dem wan wicked me, but God save me,” he added.
Fans flooded the comment section with concern and prayers after the video went viral. Many described the ordeal as “traumatic” and called on authorities to treat young creators better.
The reason for Peller’s arrest has sparked mixed reactions online, with some defending him and others saying he should be more careful with his content and public conduct.
Peller is known for his viral TikTok lives and collaborations with other creators. Despite the setback, he told fans he’s grateful to be home and is focusing on getting back to work.
The police are yet to release an official statement on the details of his arrest and release.
