Comedian and filmmaker Basketmouth has warned his fans to never die for Nigeria. 

The comedian's blunt message to Nigerians during a recent conversation, telling fans to prioritize themselves over country, has surprised them.

Basketmouth didn’t mince words, he encouraged Nigerians to put themselves first instead of the country.

“In whatever you do in this life, don’t die for Nigeria,”he said.  

“Love your country, yes. Work hard, yes. But don’t kill yourself for the system.”

The statement came while he was talking about hustle, mental health, and the pressure young people face to “suffer and smile” for the nation.
