"My Biggest Fear Is Overstaying In Music" - Davido Uses Ronaldo’s Story As Warning



Afrobeats superstar David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido has revealed his biggest fear.

An old Davido interview clip has resurfaced, sparking online debate after he admitted his biggest career fear, overstaying in the music industry and losing relevance.

In the viral video, the “Unavailable” hitmaker compared himself to his close friend Cristiano Ronaldo, saying Ronaldo’s World Cup experience taught him a lot.

“My biggest fear is not knowing when to quit music. Seeing how people treated my friend Ronaldo after all he gave football reminds me to pray for wisdom to know when it’s time to step aside,” Davido stated. 

He elaborated on the emotional toll of fame, noting how quickly public adoration can turn to criticism even for icons who have achieved everything. 

Davido described Ronaldo, whom he calls a “very good friend” as someone who has won multiple Ballons d’Or, Champions League titles, and more, yet still faced intense online abuse and ridicule following Portugal’s World Cup exit

The singer emphasized his proactive approach to legacy, “I worked too hard for me to come and spoil it with something. So I always ask God, ‘God, just tell me the right time to pack it up.’ That’s the only thing I’m scared of.”
