The history of turban is unknown. Its been worn by different religion and culture.

The wearing of hijab or turban is not just a way of life to some people, because people now make fashion statement with it.

They come in different designs, shapes, sizes, patterns and colours. Its common nowadays to see females complementing their dresses with a turban.

These hairgears has also made its mark on runway. Halima Aden, the Somali American fashion model has given an insight on how to rock these hairgears.

Halima Aden is noted to be the first woman to wear a hijab in the Minnesota, USA pageant, in 1996. She was a semifinalist, with this, she received national attention and she was signed to IMG models.

She also became the first hijab wearing model on the cover of vogue Arabia and allure.
