Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu celebrates healthcare workers on workers' day

Governor of Lagos State, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu celebrates with health care workers on workers day. In his message, he appreciate their dedication, devotion to duty in the face of the coronavirus pandemic.

Coronavirus pandemic has affected and destroyed all sectors. Many healthcare workers have tested positive and some of them have died from this virus.

In Nigeria, about 113 healthcare professional have died as a result of COVID19 accounting for around 6% of the cases.

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu wrote, "It is only fitting that I specially dedicate this year's #workersDay to celebrating the true heroes of this season the healthcare workers on the front line of the battle against #COVID19."

"Since this virus started to ravage our communities and disrupt our lives, these heroes have not just been going to war daily against this unseen enemy.

"I remain committed to our workers' welfare because you are the engine-room of our economy.

"I celebrate with all workers across all sectors in Lagos. I celebrate your dedication and devotion to duty even in the face of a global pandemic.

"I salute you all as you continue to give your best in the service of our state and country."
