#EndSARS: Yesufu, Sam Adeyemi, Davido, Burna Boy, 46 Others Sued Over Their Role In The Protest

 
 

50 people have been arrested for their involvement in the EndSARS protest. Most of them are in the entertainment industry. Kanu Nwankwo, former Nigerian international footballer; Aisha Yesufu, Nigerian activist; Innocent Idibia, Nigerian singer and songwriter popularly known as 2face; David Adeleke, Nigerian Afropop singer better known as Davido, are among persons listed in the suit.

A Twitter user known as Kenechukwu, with the Twitter handle @HumanRightsNG, filed a criminal complaint against 50 people in their involvement in EndSARS Protest.

He alleged that his properties were destroyed during the riot and asked that the promoters of the EndSARS protest be brought to justice.

The case was instituted on Monday pursuant to section 88, 109(a), 110(a)(C) of the Administration Of Criminal Justice Act, 2015

On October 30, Kenechukwu Okeke made his intention known he wrote, "I shall instigate against all the alleged penetrators and coordinators of the #endSARS riots on @twitter. The nation bled, lives lost and properties worth billions destroyed as a result of the sheer recklessness of some person."

"Having initiated criminal proceedings against the #endSARS riots promoters at exactly 1052hrs WAT, 09/11/2020, we shall ensure that same is diligently prosecuted in the interest of defense, public safety and public order of Federal Republic of Nigeria is country of law."
