I Changed Naira To Dollar Today I Almost Cried_ Davido

 

Hip hop superstar, Davido was moved to tears today when he changed naira to dollar. He took to his Twitter handle to lament about the sorry state of the nation.

He wrote, 

"Dollar don reach 500... I changed naira to dollar today and I almost cried smh this country nawa."

According to Bloomberg, the exchange rate is as a result of increased in demand for dollars, "Nigerian naira weakened to the lowest in over three years in the parallel market due to increased demand for dollar amid foreign - currency shortages."

"The local unit depreciated to 495 per dollar on Friday, lowest since February 23, 2017, widening the gap with the official rate of 379.5 to over 30℅, according to abokifx.com, a website that collates parallel market rate in Lagos. The currency traded in the interbank market at 389.74 as of 4:54pm in Lagos."
