Actress Omotola Jalade Celebrates 26 Years Of Friendship And Partnership With Husband

 

Nollywood actress, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde has revealed that she and her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde have enjoyed 26 years of friendship and partnership, which calls for a celebration. She disclosed that herself and husband have become each other's diehard fan over the years.

The movie star took to her Instagram page and shared loved up photos of herself and her husband as they have fun. Still celebrating her wedding anniversary.

She wrote,

"26 years of friendship and partnership. Of being each other's No1 fan"

Few days ago, she revealed that it was a triple celebration for her household. It was her husband’s birthday, her 26th wedding anniversary and her first daughter’s graduation.

The actress got married to her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde, at the age of 18 in a court ceremony on March 23, 1996. They had their white wedding ceremony in 2001 after having their third child which wowed a lot of people.

The white wedding which took place on board a Dash 7 airplane flying from Lagos to the Republic of Benin had their close friends and family in attendance with a clergy was also on board to bless the union.

The mother of four met her husband, Captain Matthew Ekeinde, in 1994 at the Solid Rock Church in Iyana Ipaja, Lagos. Omotola was 16 years old while her husband was 26 when they met.

The two were introduced to each other by her husband’s elder sister and it was love at first sight for both of them.  Immediately, she turned 18, Captain Matthew proposed marriage to the her. 

Actress Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, has emphasized the importance of  a woman being financial stable before considering marriage and if not, shouldn't consider marriage.

The actress stated this in an interview with BBC Yoruba revealing that she got married at 18 because she was a millionaire.

According to her, if a woman goes into marriage without being financially stable, one one would be going into slavery or better still, prison.

“One should not marry a man when one is not financially stable. If one does that, one would be going into slavery or better still, prison."

“One must apply wisdom or common sense in everything one does. People cannot say that because I married at 18, therefore they can also do the same. The question is, ‘are you ready for marriage’? When I was 18, I was ready.

“I had been working since I was 15-year-old and I became a millionaire at the age of 18. That is a fact that a lot of people do not know.

I had my own money. I was not dependent on any man. Moreover, I lost my father at an early age, so I was already responsible for my younger siblings. I was like their mother at that time, so I was very mature and financially prepared."
