Hilda Baci Set Guinness World Record for Largest Serving of Nigerian Jollof Rice

 

Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again set a new Guinness World Record for the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice. Weighing an impressive 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz), this record-breaking dish was achieved in partnership with food brand Gino Nigeria at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Guinness World Records confirmed Hilda Baci's achievement of the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice through a post on X (formerly Twitter).

"New record: Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice – 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) achieved by Hilda Baci and Gino in Victoria Island, Lagos, Nigeria."

This confirmation came after Hilda Baci and her team successfully prepared the massive dish, weighing 8,780 kilograms, on September 12, 2025, at the Eko Hotel and Suites in Lagos. The record-breaking event was witnessed by thousands, including food enthusiasts, celebrities, and notable figures.

The official recognition by Guinness World Records highlights Hilda Baci's culinary expertise and showcases Nigerian cuisine on the global stage. This achievement adds to her growing legacy in the culinary world, following her previous record for the longest cooking marathon in 2023.
