Nigerian super star Davido has revealed his plans to explore the film industry and expressed interest in playing a role that’s out of the ordinary, a taxi driver.

He shared this aspiration during a panel session at the Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos. The Afrobeats star is keen on collaborating with African filmmakers to produce authentic African stories and draw inspiration from international productions.

Davido looks up to global stars like 50 Cent, who have made a successful transition from music to film and TV production.

Davido's move into Nollywood aligns with his broader vision to create a lasting legacy in the entertainment industry, potentially encompassing music, films, reality shows, and documentaries.

“My brother was saying that he was going to give me a role. I told him I wanted to do a role that would be shot by a taxi driver or something, like something out of the blue. He has to figure that out. So I definitely want to get involved in movies.”
