"You Started Your Career Sampling Fela – Now You Disrespect Him?" - VeryDarkMan Blasts Wizkid

Social media activist VeryDarkMan has criticized Wizkid over comments perceived as disrespectful toward the late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti.

This stems from an ongoing online feud between Wizkid and Seun Kuti (Fela's son), where fans compared Wizkid to Fela, prompting Seun to call such comparisons an "insult" to his father's legacy. 

Wizkid responded aggressively on social media, reportedly declaring himself "bigger than" Fela and using insults toward Seun, which sparked backlash including fans insulting Fela's name and legacy online.

VeryDarkMan addressed this in a viral video accusing Wizkid of disrespecting Fela.

According to VeryDarkMan, Wizkid made Nigerian to disrespects Fela's legend, calling them "past glory" unlike other countries that honor theirs, encouraged by his response to disrespect Fela.

VeryDarkMan further added that Wizkid lacks originality, saying, his career started with sampled songs, his debut "Holla at Your Boy" sampled Fela. He stressed that no Nigerian artist has sampled Fela more than Wizkid, yet he disrespects the icon.

The activist also pointed out that, Wizkid's Grammy was from a collaboration, those of Burna Boy or Tems. Finally stated that Wizkid owes an apology to Nigeria and Afrobeat for the fallout.
