Popular Nigerian singer 2Baba has sparked fresh debate in the Afrobeats scene by naming Burna Boy as the current leader, ahead of Davido and Wizkid, both in Nigeria and globally.

In a recent Mic On Podcast interview, 2Baba stated that while he enjoys music from all three artists, Burna Boy is currently on a "different level" musically.

He emphasized that his assessment isn't based on personal success or financial gains, but rather his understanding of the global music landscape.

2Baba compared artists to painters, saying comparisons are subjective. He thinks Burna Boy is currently leading Afrobeats globally, citing his industry awareness and global reach.

This isn't the first time 2Baba has spoken about comparisons within the Afrobeats scene. He previously dismissed comparisons between Wizkid and Fela Kuti as "ridiculous" and "disrespectful".
