“I Paid for Stolen Phones” — Peller Addresses Phone Thefts at Traditional Wedding
Popular Nigerian TikTok star and content creator Habeeb Hamzat, widely known as Peller, has addressed the unexpected drama that unfolded during his lavish traditional wedding to fellow creator Jarvis (Elizabeth Amadou) on Saturday, August 1, 2026, in Lagos.
Inside the venue, celebrities and influencers showed up with expensive gifts. One fan reportedly gave $20,000. But outside, it was a different story. Many guests said their phones were stolen by agberos hanging around the Lekki location.
In a candid Instagram post, Peller expressed frustration over the situation, revealing he had been flooded with calls from affected attendees.

He wrote (in part), “They stole a lot of phones yesterday everybody is calling I don pay for phone tire ... I just dey get different calls about people phone been snatch outside.”
The content creator confirmed he personally covered the cost of replacing some of the stolen devices, taking responsibility amid the fallout.
Reports also mentioned additional disruptions, including traffic gridlock, demands for “settle” money from touts, and even an incident where a man was reportedly run over by a car near the venue while crowds blocked vehicles.
Despite the setbacks, Peller and Jarvis’s traditional wedding was widely celebrated online for its glamour and cultural elements. The couple had earlier made headlines when Peller paid Jarvis’s bride price in Edo State.
Peller announced that their upcoming white wedding, scheduled for August 8, 2026, will be a strictly private affair limited to about 100 invited guests only. He urged the public and uninvited individuals, including bloggers and touts to stay away, warning of enhanced security measures. “Agbero pls don’t come and stay outside the place... because u guys thief many phones yesterday,” he added in his post.
