Cardi B Reacts As Akuapem Poloo Receives Jail Sentence Over Photo Of Nudity
American rapper, Cardi B has objected to the three months of jail sentence given to Ghanaian actress Akuapem Poloo for posting a nude photos online.
The actress posted a nude picture where she appeared beside her son on her social media platforms in June 2020 to celebrate his son’s seventh year birthday. The action caused her a lot many backlash which afterwards made her to apologize publicly giving reason why she did that.
The actress posted a photo with a message to her son, "I'm naked in front of you because this is how naked I was giving birth to you, so in case you find me naked lying somewhere don’t pass by me but rather see me as your mom who brought you to life. Happy birthday to you @sonof_poloo."
Ghanaian actress, Rosemond Brown, popularly known as Akuapem Poloo, was on Friday sentenced to three months in prison by an Accra Circuit Court, over the publication of “obscene material and domestic violence”. The Director of Child Rights International Ghana, Bright Appiah, filed a petition seeking prosecution in 2020.
Reacting to the sentence, the American star doesn't think Poloo has no sexual motive concerning the photo. believes that the punishmen t was too severe, that social media probation or community service would have been better.
"I have seen a lot of Americans do photoshoots like that,” she tweeted.
“Even though its not my style I don’t think she had a sexual motive around the photo.
“In honesty, I also think jail is a bit harsh. Maybe social media probation or community service would have been better,” she said.
