Bashir Ahmad, a former presidential aide, has expressed his disappointment with Davido's comment that the Nigerian economy is in a terrible state.

Bashir Ahmad stated that the singer's actions are a betrayal of national loyalty and trust.

He described the act, unpatriotic, emphasising that acting against one's own country from abroad is shameful and betrayal of national loyalty and trust.

“Selling out your country from foreign soil is so disappointing and unpatriotic. Public figures like Davido should know that. They should act and be seen as good ambassadors for Nigeria wherever they find themselves. @NOA_Nigeria!”

This comes after Davido warned African-Americans against relocating to Africa following Donald Trump’s electoral victory in the United States.

“It’s not cool back home. The economy now is in shambles,” he said.
