How to prepare ogbono and it's nutritional value


Ogbono is a Nigerian dish made with ground ogbono seeds. Regulates serum
cholesterol level, effective for weight loses, serves as anti- diabetics  for
diabetic patient, prevents constipation, aids in digestion, it has
anti- fungi and anti bacterial properties therefore effective in treating of
bacterial and fungi infections. Ogbono is a rich source of vitamins and
minerals, potassium, iron, vitamin C, ascorbic acid, amino acid,
magnesium, sodium.
Ingredient
-500g ground ogbono seed
-1kg assorted meat
-255g ground crayfish
-25g dry powder pepper
-25g locust beans (optional)
-500g stock fish
-500g smoked fish
-Vegetables (optional)
-Seasoning
-Salt to taste
-290ml Palm oil
-1 onion bulb
-Water
-Salt to taste
Method
Wash the assorted meats thoroughly and place in a pot.
Add the sliced onions, seasoning and salt.
Cook for about 30minutes, when the assorted meat is almost cooked, add
the stock fish to make it soft and tender. When the both assorted meat and
stock fish are soft and tender, remove from fire.
Pour palm oil on the fire, slightly fry the powder ogbono for 2 minutes
to melt it and easier for cooking.
Then add little broth and stir until its draws.
Add assorted meat, stock fish, crayfish, vegetables, locust beans,
seasoning, broth, and salt to taste.
Allow to simmer.
Serve with pounded yam or any food of your choice.
