Bill Gates beats Bezos to become world's richest man

Bill Gates, Microsoft Corp. co-founder overtook Amazon.com Inc.'s Jeff
Bezos as the world's richest person on Friday, regaining the number one
position after more than two years.

According to the Bloomberg Billionaire Index, which tracks the wealth of
the richest 500 people, Bill Gates, has a total net worth of $110, just
ahead of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos at $109.

Bezos would have been richer if it was the case of his divorce. MacKenzie
gets a quarter of their Amazon holdings in July, a transfer of some
19.7million shares of Amazon. com Inc.'s to her name was made. MacKenzie net
worth dipped to $35 billion on Friday.

With the Pentagon decision to award $10 billion cloud-computer to
Microsoft, shares of Microsoft have since climbed 4%, giving Gates a $110
billion fortune.

A 48% increase in Microsoft shares this year, boost the value Gates 1%
stake, making him the richest man in the world.
